Workshop 3: Father and Son Writing Workshop
Saturday, June 22 | 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Highland Park Library
1974 Ford Parkway, Saint Paul
Join Ben Weaver and his son, Frankie in this outdoor workshop to write with your kids and explore the experience of fatherhood from your own and your kids’ perspectives. As fathers, how do we want to support our children? What do our children have to teach us about how we can rise to the occasion of being who they need us to be? Build community with other fathers and their children. This is a workshop for anyone who identifies as a father and whoever they consider to be their children.
About the instructor:
Ben Weaver is a father, caregiver, songwriter, poet and hide tanner, who travels by bicycle. He uses music and poetry to strengthen relationships and culture between human and non-human entities. He has released nine studio albums of music and five books of poetry. Given the choice he will side with the animals, lakes, rivers and trees. Relationship is the repair.
